The race starts with a mass start swim at 9.00am at Broughton Bridge.

Car Parking

There is limited car parking so please park with other people in mind.

Registration

Race registration and briefing will be the day before on Saturday 5th July at 4pm until 6pm and will be located at the Leisure Centre. You will be issued with two race numbers. 1 must be displayed on your front at all times and the other on your cycle helmet, and 3 numbered stickers to be placed on cycle helmet, kayak and paddle.

Kayak / Cycle / Run is at the Leisure Centre
Bike to Kayak to Run transition. Ancholme Leisure centre.
Please ensure that numbered stickers (provided) are clearly displayed on cycles, kayaks and paddles, and you have an approved (ansi/snell) cycle helmet.
Cycles, kayaks and paddles can only be removed after the race by showing your race number.

Please note: Competitors only in the transition area.

Route

Swim 1500m

The River Ancholme - The swim will take place at Broughton Bridge where you will have to utilise a support crew or team up with another competitor to transport your boat down to the swim/kayak transistion. You could also paddle down from the leisure centre (approx 4k) if you wanted a bit of a warm up. Please bring a spare black plastic bag to throw your wetsuit in at transition and these will be collected by a marshall and returned to the main transition area. The swim is downstream for 250m and then back, covering 3 legs to make a total of 1500m.

Kayak 7K

The River Ancholme - The Transition will take place at Broughton Bridge following the swim, the route heads downstream for 1K and then turns at the Railway Bridge and heads back to the Leisure Centre. You must use the Kayak/Canoe Access platform to get out of your Kayak and not the fishing pegs.

Run 10km (PLEASE READ)

Exit the transition area and run along the riverbank and climb over the stile as directed. Turn right onto Bridge Street keeping to the right hand side footpath. Continue on the footpath for 1/3 mile until you reach the market place, keeping the bandstand on your right, a marshal will direct you straight on through the town centre via Wrawby Street until you reach monument roundabout, where a sign will direct you on a sharp right turn onto Bigby Street.

Continue on the right hand side footpath along Bigby Street but be aware of 2 unmarshalled minor road junctions. Continue until you reach the traffic lighted junction of Elwes Street where a marshal will direct you left down Elwes Street out towards Cadney. Continue on right hand side along Cadney Road which runs alongside the River Ancholme until you reach the water station turning point.

Cross over to the right hand side of road and run back towards Brigg until the small bridge where a marshal will direct you over to the left hand side of the road. At the traffic light junction of Elwes Street turn left into the market place where you will start your 2nd lap. On completion of this 2nd lap turn left at the traffic light junction and continue to run towards the bandstand in the market place which will be your finish point.
